Llyswen Care Home is a bespoke service located in Merthyr Tydfil - South Wales, that specialises in providing person-centred care and support for up to 4 younger adults (aged 18 and over) with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities and associated complex needs.

In September 2024 we were proud to have Dawn Bowden MS (Minister for Children and Social Care) attend the official opening of Llyswen Care Home.

The home itself has been adapted with Autism in mind, offering robust furnishings without compromising a comfortable and homely feel. The service consists of four single rooms, two with en-suite facilities, and two with a shared bathroom.

There is a large kitchen area where Service Users are encouraged to participate in meal preparations and baking activities, a spacious dining room, and a lounge area where Service Users can relax within a low stimulus environment. There is also a sensory room to support self-regulation and stimulate sensory needs. The service has a large enclosed garden area to the rear of the home which provides ample space for leisure activities, barbecues, or just relaxing and enjoying the picturesque views. The service is also able to cater for any specialist equipment required to support individuals needs.

Llyswen Care Home encourages people to believe in their potential, and to make positive steps towards achieving individual goals, regardless of presumed ability. 

We ensure that through careful person-centred planning which focuses on what each individual CAN do, we are able to support our service users to live fulfilling lives whilst promoting as much independence as possible. 

Quality care for the people we support is at the heart of what we do. We regularly undertake reviews and internal audits, and are committed to continuously improving our service which is regulated by the CIW.
